Creating Christmas Memories of My Own
Late last night I put my one of my favorite cakes in the oven. I only make it at Christmas time. It is a brown sugar pound cake and smells as wonderful when I am mixing it as it does when it is baking. I am always asked for the recipe, so here it is! Thanks for asking for it friend I have known the longest :) Brown Sugar Pound Cake Southern Living Magazine December 2004 1 cup butter, softened 1/2 cup shortening 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar 1 cup granulated sugar 6 large eggs 3 cups cake flour 1 t. baking powder 1 cup evaporated milk 2 t. vanilla extract 2 cups chopped pecans, toasted ( I have used walnuts which I think I prefer) Beat butter and shortening at medium speed.
