Feelings about Today...

It's been a challenging day, then I saw this.  I think it was meant for me  :)


William has arrived and we all went down to the Pier and the boys jumped off and then we saw this beautiful sunset.

The Closing of a Chapter - Sunset Beach, NC

We sold our home on Sunset Beach, NC  in March. It was a bittersweet decision but it had become challenging to get to SSB enough to enjoy it. Also, now living in the Caribbean sealed the deal. So, before all the restrictions of COVID-19 really came into effect, we closed on March 6th.  We were to leave our major things there to retrieve after the last rental in early August. Best laid plans on paper don't always work out! So, on April 10th movers with the help of our agent and the new owners, moved all of our things out of the house to storage. The trip we had planned as a family to see the house one last time and pack up is no longer.  I am sad but oddly content. I am so thankful for the 10 years of wonderful and precious memories we created there with grandparents, cousins, Aunts and Uncles and friends. What do you notice?

It may not be a surprise to those that know me well, that I am a "notice-er".  I notice everything.  I can remember odd and unique details, people's faces, who gave us what for our wedding, stores I have been into and who I saw there, where I went for dinner a couple of years ago and what I ate, etc.  It can be a helpful trait and maybe a bit annoying. It worked well for me in the world of development and special events. It also works really well for me at home as I know where "everything" is in this house. If you ask me where your shoes, keys, favorite jacket, peanut butter, iPod, homework etc. are, it is likely I can direct you right to it/them.  Consequences of me having all this great knowledge is that others sometime forget to use their own brains.... Five Years in VT

Retrospective - We have had a full 5 years here in Thetford, VT,  arriving to a porch light on, on June 17, 2012. Things sure do change in a life lived together. I like the people we are growing up to be. Since Feb. of 2016 the following has happened: a trip to Boston right after a colossal snowstorm, spring break in DC and Sunset Beach, wedding anniversary-17th, William went to Costa Rica with Rustic Pathways for two weeks, William turned 15, Bill, James, Thomas and I spent two really fun days in NYC, family and friends visited us in VT, we picked lots of blueberries, Papa turned 80 and we all went to Atlanta to celebrate, James turned 13, Bill and I celebrated birthdays, we celebrated our first Christmas in Vt and Grandmama and Papa Lemmon came up to be with us,  Thomas turned 10, we survived mud season, spring break in DC, Annapolis to see some wonderful family friends and Sunset, time at Sunset Beach and Atlanta with my parents, wedding anniversary-18th, hot air ball...
